The Concerned Leader’s Trusted Advisor℠

Hands-On Expertise and Real-World Experience to Guide the Way

Jeffrey M. Miller SPS, DTI Strategy & Tactics Guy

As the senior leader in your company, you know your business and your industry.  But, even with the deep level concern you have in ensuring that your company is protected against the crippling effects that an act of violence can bring to your workplace, it can be extremely difficult to get the customized and integrated solution you need, that’ll also give you the exact results you want.

With the dizzying array of responsibilities, meetings, and "hat-wearing" you already face every day, when trying to get started it can be easy to:

1) jump on the first quick-fix, “band-aid,” program or approach that sounds good

2) delegate the project to a VP or committee or, worse yet...

3) delay putting things in place until a “better time” or a current project is off the table.

The problem with these options is that:

  • One-off training programs, for many reasons, rarely make your workplace any safer after the training is over.  And even if they do, you need to remember that there's still the issue of customizing and tailoring the lessons to work in your company's unique setting and with current operations.
  • Delegated employees, no matter how well-intentioned, rarely have the expertise in handling actual violence and all-to-often filter the information that makes it's way to you.  Especially with regards to protecting your employees against workplace violence, you need an unbiased confidant who will tell you the truth about what you have, what you need, and the best way to get there...even if it's hard to swallow at first.  And...
  • Putting things off until later literally gambles with lives and the livelihood of your company – betting that nothing will happen in the interim between now and when that so-called “better-time” arrives.  Unless you have a spare $250 - $500K just lying around waiting to be spent on non-growth problem-solving (the average out-of-court settlement for an injured employee suit is currently around $250K), this isn't one of those "bridges you'll cross when you get there."   The reality of violence is two-fold:
    • 1) from our perspective violence is random - we never know when it will happen or what shape it will take, but...
    • 2) from our assailant's perspective, it's rarely random, having planned their attack to make sure they have the greatest chance of succeeding possible.

That’s why I offer expert advisory services to concerned leaders who know they need help now. Ronin Consultants Corp
York, Pennsylvania

“The programs delivered by Jeffrey Miller exceeded our expectations.  The information and delivery was not only well-thought out and on-target with what we needed, but it was also very different from the same rehashed materials that we had encountered in the past.  It became clear, after the very first presentation, that Jeffrey M. Miller Consultancy would be the company of choice for Ronin Consultants’ employee self-protection training.

Our people were not just taught self-defense moves.  They were taught the science behind how and why we respond the way we do under pressure.  If your company is looking to add this important type of training to your employee education program, I highly recommend that you talk with Jeff and see why he is our number one choice when it comes to this type of training.”
